Editorial structure, content and delivery on the UK dummy of WIRED magazine for Conde Nast. It's a small team, directly under Albert Read, the General Manager. Can't say any more. It's a secret.

Marketing Manager, Escape Studios
Created marketing and advertising strategy, a solid press campaign and set foundations for future events, including The Escape Awards. Wrote a style guide for all external communications, built contacts with magazines, ran competitions and took care of copywriting and relaunch of brand image.

Freelance writer
Features published in The Independent on Sunday (click to read), The Mail on Sunday 'Live' magazine, GQ, Elle, the Reader’s Digest, The Resident, The London Magazine, Arrivals Magazine, MoneyWeek and The Week.

One of the ‘Hotmale’ columns I wrote for Elle magazine was their "most popular ever". I have written travel features, supplements and regular style pieces for The Independent, and copywritten for Vogue magazine.

I have ghost-written pieces in advertorial supplements for The Economist, The Daily Mail and The Daily Telegraph, and worked as specialist researcher for the BBC and Discovery Channel. I cover everything from finance, gadgets and gardening to history and fashion.

Recent copywriting clients:

‘Launch editor’ on a number of pitches for contract publishing firm, Cedar Communications. As well as coming up with the structure of proposed publications, I edited the pitch document and presented to clients.

Marketing director, Clarity.
This is a copywriting agency that specialises in writing for businesses, charities and the government.

As well as marketing, ghostwriting and copywriting, I liaised with clients and helped manage the team of freelance writers and editors.


Researcher:

- Specialist researcher on a number of BBC projects including Cambridge Spies, the historical drama, which was broadcast last summer.

- Other TV research clients include Kemistry, a multi-media company, pre-production on twelve short films for the Discovery network, researching and developing ideas into scripts.


Staff writer, PC Gear magazine

- A core member of the pre- and post-launch team on this computing title from Dennis
Publishing
, I took particular responsibility for the News and Net sections, editing them
and commissioning articles and features.

- I also pitched in on the design side, coming up with ideas and commissioning
illustrations for features and news pieces.

- PC Gear was voted one of Campaign magazine’s top launches of 2000.


Project manager, CAARE also Media consultant, Lottery Promotion Company

- Media consultant, then full-time project manager for CAARE, a UK-based charity; and
the Lottery Promotion Company, a lobbying group.

- Raised over 70% of the funds for CAARE’s Vision project. Developed marketing and
rollout of projects, liaising with trustees, accounts and production teams.

- Set up and built www.caare.org; designed and produced research and brochures;
implemented media strategy and acted as press liaison for both companies, briefing
journalists and writing releases.


Associate editor, Euromoney.com

- Still writing for Euromoney magazine (below), I took on the company’s flagship site.

- My main tasks were generating content, both from journalists and advertisers; day-
to-day management of news feeds; keeping site development and design up-to-date
and profitable; mass emails; liaising with magazine editorial and publishing; as well as
organising and editing virtual roundtables with leading international financiers.

- Much of the groundwork I put in place is still in use on the site today.


Reporter, Euromoney magazine

- Graduate trainee then reporter, Euromoney magazine. Writing and reporting for all
sections of the magazine, built relationships with and interviewed market leaders from
the top banks and international finance organisations.

- I concentrated on major features and breaking news stories, but also produced the
Euromoney awards for excellence; monitored market developments; reported on
emerging trends; and worked with the research department to produce polls.
